Expresso newspaper article about the II Azores Bullfinch Atlas

It was held from the 25th of June to the 30th, the II Azores Bullfinch Atlas, which was attended by over 50 volunteers. This project took place in the municipalities of Nordeste and Povoação, more specifically in SPA Pico da Vara / Ribeira do Guilherme and surrounding area, in order to be able to estimate the total existing Priolos.

This is a unique event, since it intended to obtain records in the whole area of the species distribution, in just one morning. It aims to take a "picture" of the Azores Bullfinch world population, since this species, in the whole world, only exists in this area. It is certainly not easy to find projects around the world with these characteristics.

During the II Azores Bullfinch Atlas where present in São Miguel various journalists from mainland Portugal to cover this unique event. One of those reporters was Carla Tomás, from Expresso.
