The headquarters of the project LIFE Sustainable Laurel in Lomba do Carro, Povoação, hosted one of the activities of Ciência Viva program dedicated to the birds and the study of their bones. The activity "Hand on the bones" is a project between SPEA and EDA developed in the region to assess the interaction between the electrical network distribution and death of populations of wild birds in the archipelago.
The participants got to know a little more about the work undertaken in this project and the importance that a simple bone may have to increase the knowledge about the birds and the problems that may affect them. Collecting and identifying these traces is essential to obtain reliable and robust knowledge.
