With the arrival of the Summer, when the sun allows more working days in high altitude areas, such as areas of peat and Laurel Forest, the project hired two more employees to the field team. José Aguiar and Nuno Melo thus join the field team responsible for the removal of exotic plants and the planting of endemic species of Azores, in areas that already cover more than 250ha managed over the past year. Until the end of the project there is much work to do so every help is precious.
In addition to these new elements and in order to make the most of the summer days, 5 more people were hired, from a local business company for the next months, which will contribute to increase the area intervened and to restore the natural habitats of the Azores, in the Serra da Tronqueira and in the Peats of Planalto dos Graminhais.
